Enjoying the Fall in the Woodlands
The Woodlands’ planned community is designed to bring together the best parts of charming, small-town neighborhoods across America. With plenty of green space, you’ll be surrounded by the vibrant colors of changing leaves. The huge number of local businesses will keep you busy, and supply everything you need for a perfect, outdoorsy autumn.
Go for an autumnal hike through the crisp autumn air on one of the many trails throughout the community. Wentwoods Park has a lily pond, and a large lake where visitors can fish before it gets too cold. Town Green Park sits next to The Woodlands Waterway, a great place to take kids to explore the sculptures of giant books. Whimsical outdoor sculptures are a regular feature in the open spaces throughout The Woodlands.
The Waterway is one of the main outdoor attractions at the Woodlands. This channel runs past the town center. It is dotted with small islands, connected by a series of idyllic bridges. The water is supplied with an abundant population of colorful koi. For an autumnal cruise through the Woodlands, take a Waterway Cruiser around the 1.4 miles of water. As an equally cute alternative, you can ride the Woodlands Waterway Trolley on a track that encircles the mall, the town center, and the community center.
Each week you can get your weekend off to a fresh start at the Grogan’s Mill Farmer’s Market. Held every Saturday at the Grogan’s Mill Village Center from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., local vendors sell organic produce and give neighbors a chance to socialize while they shop. Take advantage of the kitchen in your Woodlands corporate housing to create delicious fall treats, including pumpkin pie! From 6 p.m to p.m., visit The Woodlands’ Waterway Square to see a performance from the Live at Night series.
