December 4: Children’s Art Party and Tree Lighting

The Art Museum of Southeast Texas has a special holiday treat for children. At 6 p.m., kids will get to participate in the Christmas tree lighting. Leading up to that moment, kids get to write letters to Santa and mail them to the North Pole, and decorate tasty holiday cookies. This single event packs in enough Christmas cheer to last you the entire month, right up until it’s time to rip open some presents.

December 13: Jingle all the Way! Family Fun Day

Your kids have heard of carriages and sleigh rides, but have they experienced one for themselves? Visit the Museum of the Gulf Coast for a free carriage ride and free hot chocolate.

December 4 – 6: Junior League of Beaumont’s Main Street Art Market

The Junior League is a group comprised of local women who offer a variety of volunteer services. At the Main Street Art Market, browse what local artisans have saved up for the best shopping days of the year.

3rd Saturday of Every Month: Trade Days on the Avenue

Visit Neches Avenue on the third Saturday of every month to get a taste of some of the most popular galleries and food trucks in the area.

Christmas Tours

December 6: Chambers House Museum Holiday Open House

The Chambers were an influential family in Beaumont, especially from 1920 to 1945. Visit on December 6 to see their house done up in historically accurate Christmas decorations.

December 7: John Jay French Museum Christmas Candlelight Tour

On December 7, go even further back in time at the John Jay French Museum. This house was built in 1845, and its owners decked the halls without the benefit of electricity. Come admire the old-fashioned festivities while a local high school choir sings traditional carols.

December 11 – December 27: Shangri La Tours

Visit the scenic botanic gardens at Shangri La to see Christmas tree and light displays, sponsored by local businesses.

December 18: Christmas Light Bike Tour

Citizens of Beaumont take their Christmas decorating pretty seriously. Check out the wide range of elaborate decorations throughout Beaumont on the bike tour. You’ll meet outside New York Pizza and Pasta and go on a leisurely tour of some of the best displays in town. In addition to regular safety lights, consider adding a few festive lights to your bike as well.
